You can follow in the footsteps of Hollywood royalty Grace Kelly and Cary Grant with the French Riviera castle where they filmed To Catch a Thief up for sale.

You’ll probably need to earn about as much as Hollywood movie star to buy it.

The castle was the scene for the 1955 film To Catch a Thief.

While no sale price is disclosed it has been estimated by French newspaper, Le Figaro, to be worth about $76 million AUD.

The castle, which has been held by the current owner for 56 years, according to TopTenRealEstate is being marketed through Sotheby’s International.

Marble is used extensively throughout the castle.

To Catch a Thief was the last movie Grace Kelly made with Alfred Hitchcock, before she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco and gave up her Hollywood career.

The masquerade ball scene in the 1955 movie was filmed in the castle.

It is reported that Kelly said she loved the “grandeur’’ of the castle which overlooked the Bay of Cannes.

The Castle of la Croix des Gardes, has been held for 56 years by the owner of Perrier water.

The masterpiece in the French Riviera has views to the Bay of Cannes.

It was built in 1919 and has about 1200sq m of floor space which includes 13 bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Malaga – “It’s a big world out there so we’ve narrowed it down for you,” announces the New York Times in its annual round-up of the 52 best places to visit in 2016. In 43rd place is Malaga, two positions higher than the 2008 edition when the Alcazaba featured as one of the city’s main attractions.
This year’s list starts with Mexico City, Bordeaux and Malta before making its way down to Malaga. In 2016, it’s the city’s cultural offerings that have caught the eye of the New York Times travel section.
The Big Apple newspaper recognises that the province of Malaga is home to “touristy seaside cities like Marbella” and a popular beach destination, but goes on to emphasise that its capital city is now a centre of culture.
The article entitled “beauty, but now a cultural capital too”, highlights the trio of “great musuems” including the recent opening of the Pompidou Centre on Muelle Uno with its works by Marc Chagall and Frida Khalo. The Russian Museum also receives a mention for its “collection of works by some of Russia’s most notable artists. Completing the trio is the Carmen Thyssen Museum with its collection of around 250 of past and present world masters including Jeff Koons.
The publication, illustrated with an unusual video of tightrope walkers in one of the palm tree oases on La Malagueta beach, points out that getting to Malaga from New York is now easier than ever with direct seasonal flights run by Delta airline. Once you’re in Malaga, high-speed train routes connect to Madrid and Barcelona. But only after you’ve visited Malaga.
